What does the customer have to say?
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Loves Tennessee walking horses, and many years as Hay customer of Calliope Wholesale Feeds

Mark Escalante
Owner of Agave Pines in Murrieta CA
We have a small cutting horse operation and before ordering feed from Laurie and Calliope Wholesale Feeds our hay quality was extremely inconsistent and hay was often dusty. We have been ordering from Laurie for ten years now, and we’ve gotten consistently top quality hay. We’ve also been able to get the mixes that we prefer to feed like orchard/alfalfa. We are not only happy with the quality but we get it for a fair price. We expect to be with Calliope Wholesale and Laurie for years to come.

frequently asked questions
here’s our common question
Everything you need to know about our hay, feeds, delivery options, and support for equine professionals.
What types of hay do you offer, and where is it sourced from?
We offer a wide selection of premium hay, including Timothy (especially long-headed 1st cut), Orchard, Alfalfa, Bermuda, Teff, and Orchard-Alfalfa blends. All hay is sourced directly from trusted farms across Oregon, Washington, and Nevada—ensuring consistent quality and freshness tailored to your region and seasonal conditions.
Do you offer delivery, and how does it work?
Yes, we provide full and half-truckload deliveries straight to your stable or training facility. A full truck includes 512 bales (8 blocks), while a half-truck includes 256 bales (4 blocks). We coordinate transportation and work with regional squeeze operators for smooth, safe offloading. Delivery logistics are handled with precision and billed separately.
Can I get a quote for hay or feed?
Absolutely. Because pricing is influenced by season, supply, and farm-specific factors, we offer real-time, ZIP-code-specific quotes rather than fixed pricing. Spring generally offers the best rates, while prices tend to rise heading into winter. Contact us directly, and we’ll provide a customized quote for your needs.
What is a HAYGAIN steamer and why might my horse need one?
HAYGAIN Hay Steamers are veterinarian-recommended devices that eliminate dust, mold, and bacteria from hay—making them ideal for horses with asthma, allergies, or other respiratory sensitivities. We carry a full range of models for Western and Eastern bale sizes and also stock replacement parts through our German warehouse partner.
Do you serve professional equine disciplines or just general horse owners?
We proudly support both! While many of our customers are individual horse owners, we specialize in serving equine professionals—especially those in Polo, Hunter Jumper, Dressage, and boarding operations. We provide tailored feed programs, delivery coordination, and expert guidance to support high-performance horses and demanding care routines.
